We ask that all students attend one seminar over the course of the semester and write a one-page (450-550 words) summary of the presentation and key takeaways. We encourage you to attend one of the Global Development Perspectives Seminars or TAD-POLE seminars, but you can attend any seminar that relates to a development topic. Please upload your summaries here before the end of the semester. The seminar video link is in the additional materials.

The impact of crop pests or diseases on crop growth and yield
1) Explain the system approach in crop pests and disease management. What are the elements, parameters, and relationships?
2) What is crop pests and disease modeling and how is the model expressed? Show an example of mathematical functions of such a model (refer to a literature).
3) What is the purpose of soil crop pests and disease modeling?
4) Which data are needed to analyze the crop pests and disease model?
5) What is the role of simulation in crop pests and diseases analysis? Give example of a simulation model software and explain how it works. (refer to literature).
6) How do we assess the crop lose due to pests and disease? (refer to literature)
7) Give and case study of a crop pests and disease simulation model applied i.e. research done somewhere. Provide key data, and summary of it.

d) Use figures, graphs, data tables and pictures to illustrate the theory and the model
e) Provide source references

Temperature, storages , what packing material best suiting, at the stage of maturity mention some post harvest disease predominate for soursop, type of injuries soursop is greatest at risk for eg short shelf life etc. why harvest at specific harvesting stages. Maturity indices etc”
